  1. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. One of those crisis was that his dad left his mother. They were hungry and they didn't have any money because they didn’t have

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. The rules were changed because they needed food and Richard had to go get the food from the store. Also he had to watch the flat (A one room apartment). Also he had to take care of his brother.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. He has to decide whether or not violence is the right thing to do or not the right thing to do. Also he must face the difficult of not solving things with his fists.

  3. 1st Paragraph:
Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. In which the Father has not been at home in a while. As well as not having any food in the house. And with no food Extreme Hunger has settled in the home of the boy.

    2nd Paragraph:
Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. The boy, Richard, Has to go and get the groceries. And when his mom is at work he has to house-sit. And he gets beat every time he tries to go out and get food. And lastly she gives him money,a note, and a stick to defend himself with.

    3rd Paragraph:
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. He now has learned to defend for himself. As well as almost killing a couple boys. And likely will have to go to jail if he continues.

  4. What precipitated the crisis in the Wright home? They had no money because the father is gone but we don’t know why, but you can always predict what happened to him. Since the father is gone it leads onto more problems. They have no food, which means they’re going to get really hungry, which isn’t good because they also have a family to feed even though it’s not a very big one. There mother needs a job before they can get more money for food.
The mother had some shocking behaviors to Richard that he is not used to. Now that their mom has a job, he has to go grocery shopping by himself, he has to watch the flat and his younger brother. When he got beat for the first time he went shopping, his mom gave him more money and sent him back. I bet she was willing to send as much money to her son until he learned a lesson. If he didn’t come back with food the 3rd time, she will whip him and not let him come back in the house, also on the last trip besides the money and the note, he gets a stick as well.
Now that he has done the violence, he has most likely gotten effects off of it. At least he learned something, and that was to defend himself. But he also learned where to strike for maximum effect, he almost killed the boys doing it. He also got a bad reputation for the neighborhood, only if he could have been a bit more calm afterwards. He also learned that his problems should be solved with violence, which in the future, he thinks that will solve it. He could end up in prison for murdering someone. It could also lead him to treating his kids to violence.

Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis.Their father is gonna so they have no money to get food and since they have no money to get food. Since their dad is gone so his mom gets a job to help the extreme hunger that they have because of no food.

    2nd Paragraph:
Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Richard had to go grocery shopping and had to watch his brother by himself at home.Richard got beat 2 times when he went grocery shopping and when he went for the 3rd time his mom gave him a stick and told him to defend himself and she will spend as much money to teach the lesson

    3rd Paragraph:
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate.he learned to defend himself at the right time and almost killed the boys.now that he can defend himself he can do it when it is necessary. He ;earned that he can solve things with violence but he needs to do it when it is necessary because when he is older he can go to jail for it.

  6. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. The family crisis was when he father left them. His father left and when he left they had no food because the father brought all of the food to the house. Richard was always hungry went he was younger because they had no food to eat. They didn’t have food because they didn’t have a lot of money to buy the food for the family to eat.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. His mother’s behaviour changed when he got older because he was growing up and she wanted him to learn to do stuff for himself like dress himself, feed himself. When he went to go buy groceries for the first time he got jumped and he went home crying and his mother gave him more money and sent him back out to get the groceries. His mother will send him with money everytime he comes back with no groceries and no money until he comes back with the groceries because she wants to teach him a lesson.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. He might grow up to beat his kids and teach them the same lesson that he learned when he was young. He could hurt someone when he gets older and then he could go to jail or prison for crimes/murder. He will probably spend most of his lifetime when he is older in jail or prison because he learned that you can solve most of your problems with violence.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Some of the actions proving the changes are him having to do the shopping for the house, and had to watch the house with his brother. These led to him getting beat in the streets.
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. The effects of this lesson caused him to beat other children for them beating him. This can be withheld in the future when he has kids and he might beat his own children to teach this same lesson.

  8. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. The family crisis was when Richard's dad had left and never came back and that his family were suffering from hunger because their mother didn't have a job yet. Richard had to take over adult responsibilities like going to the store, cooking dinner, and taking care of the house.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behaviour let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. His mother made him and his little brother watch the house. Richard also had to go grocery shopping. His mother kept letting him get beat up to teach him a lesson on how he needs to defend himself so he won't get hurt any more. And for the last trip to the store, his mother gave him a stick to defend himself with, a grocery list, and some money.

Because Richard's violent behaviour paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. His mother basically taught him that problems only usually get solved with violence. He also gets a bad reputation in the neighbourhood for beating up the boys who stole his money and beat him up. He also learned that defending himself is the only way not to get beat up any more.

So his mother sent him back out with more money a list and a stick. when he went back out the boys saw him agian and tryed to take the money agian so he swang and almost killed three or the boys with the stick.

    3rd Paragraph:
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. He learned how to defend himself agianst bullys who want the money. He also learned how to strick with maxium power with the stick that can kill the boys. The boys ran home and Richard chased them so the boys Moms came out and yelled at him and he yelled back at them saying that if they bud in he will do the same with them and he got a really bad reputation from that.He also learned that violence can solve any problem that happens to come up.

  11. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. Therefore his mom got a job to get money to pay for food because father had left and has not came back.Richard Ask what has happened to father because he is late coming home. She said “you are too young to know.but before that they were starving in hunger and wanted to eat something. So that is why mother got a job but Richard had to promies to look over the flat house a flat house is were there are no walls nothing.Somtimes when Mother is loney and wants to talk she would call him done to talk.
Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Richard mother was teaching him how to fight for himself and to fight back, because he was beaten two times and the boys took his money and ran off he went back home and his mother gave a list of supplies,Money,And A stick to defend himself so he would not get beaten. When the kids saw him again they got closer he was scared holding he swung the stick. all of them got hurt running home there mother came out and threatened him saying that was not necessary and the mother did not realized their children was the real victim.
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate.Learning this at a young age and not teaching him the right way is telling him violence is okay and he can do it whenever he feels like it.He is not being taken the right way the right way to be appropriate is only using violence if you are being hurt or being beaten to the ground.

  13. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. One of them was that his father was gone. Anthouer was that he has no food tell his mother can get a job to feed them. Also was that him his mom and and brother were all extremely hungry.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. One of his responsibility was that he had to do the grocery shopping. Also he had to watch the house with his brother by himself. Next the first time he went shopping he got beat up and his mom kept on give him more money and sending him back to the store and she did not care how much money it cost to teach the boy a lesson. She also told him that not to come back without food or she will wipe him. Lastly to fight off the gagang she gave him a heavy stick.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate.A good thing is that he will learn to defend himself. Also a bad thing is that he end up in jail or he will beat his own kids. He can also get a bad reputation in the neighborhood. Finally he think that violence is the answer to your problems

  14. Richards father left him his brother & his mom. His father was the one who got the food for them so since he was gone Richards mom had to go to work leaving his responsibilities a 10-year-old shouldn't have, Like He had to go grocery shopping all by himself & it was the first time doing it, He had to watch his little brother all by himself while his mom worked, He got beat up for the money he had & they took the money, She said that she didn't have any money but she spent some of it for Richard to learn his lesson, she gave him more money & a heavy stick to fight his battles with.

It was different because she was pretty much telling him to raise himself & doing stuff no normal 10-year-old should have, She also changed because in the beginning of the story she seemed more nice than once life got harder for her she became angrier & Abusive. She threatened Richard that if he came back to the house with no groceries then she'll whip him.

he will probably grow up to be abusive or go to jail for taking his violence to far & killing them or something so he will have to go to jail but there is also a good chance that he won't do any of these things

His father left one night and hasn’t came back. When his father left he brought the food so now there is not any. There is no money because his dad made the money. Now Richard is having the worst experience of all extreme hunger.Well Richards mom is out getting a job he is in charge.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Know that his mom found a job he has to go grocery shopping. On his way one day he gets beat up by a gang of boys. Richards mom just gives him more money and another note and tells him to go back to get the grochrys. After Richards gets beat up a second time he comes home and his mother slaps him and tells him to defend himself and gives him more stuff to go to the store for grochrys.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. Richard now knows that he can beat someone up and his problems go away. He has a reputation on the streets now. He could be sent to prison for assault or violence. He could end up in jail for assault to his kids and his wife or girlfriend.

  20. Richard had to make changes because of Richard's father left their family from out of the abyss. Because of the father selfish act they have a lack of money. And if you do not have money you can not buy food so that made another problem. with both of those financial issues poor Richard had to learn the hard
way what sharp pain's and deep huger feels like.

with all those issue’s Richard noticed that there was little food and he had more responsibilities. Richard has to go get the food from the store and when he was across the street from the store he had discovered a gang, when the gang saw him they mugged him .
They sent him without money and beaten raw. And then when he got home his mom gave him more money and told him to be more cautious and to ignore them and keep walking away. but they just repeated the process. And on the third time she gave him a brutal stick and when went to get it for the third time he beat the gang senseless.

due to all those hit’s that he put into the gang they might of had a brain injury or had a counction.
that could of cause the other kid’s to beware of him because of actions.
but because of this event he might think that angry is the cure to everything.

  28. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. His father father left the family! When his father left the family that left them with no money for food. When the family had no money for food the boys became hungry. Then because they all were hungry the mom had to leave to get a job so Richard had to be put in charge of the house.
Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Richards mother sent him to go shopping, when he went to go shopping he got beat up and his money was taken. This happens twice and his mother just sends him back out with more money. After he got beat the second time he comes home his mother smacks him and this time gives him a stick with the money, he uses this to beat the kids when they come for his money for the third time.
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. So when his mother gave him the stick and he beat those kids he now must think it is ok to use violence to get what you want. Everyone will now probably treat him differently because they know he is violent. He could end up in prison and beating his kids...I don’t think that this lesson really treated him good things.

  30. why he was to assume adult responsibility is because his mom got a job because his dad left. Also Richard is starving and drink tea. Plus she has little money and two small kids to feed. Also they live in a bad neighborhood. for the first change is that she would come home crying and telling the kid. Plus she started to yell at richard for no groceries. Also the mom slap richard against his face why violence could be a problem is that he may decide to beat up someone to get what he wants. Also he might start to beat his own kid when his older. Plus he might get in trouble with other people for his reception

Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. The thing that caused the problem for Richard Richard at first was his father left and he was the only source of income. That was because without money they couldn’t buy any food. Then he started to get hungry as they ran out of money and went a few days without food. When his mom got a job she needed to work there a long time so she could get enough money for food.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Because she kept sending him out to get food even though he was being mugged as he was walking down the street. She wouldn’t let him inside till he got food from the grocery store. Then she gave him a stick to defend himself and fought back and won. So the kids ran away because they were being hit in the head with a hard stick.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. Because he was rewarded for violence it could make him think violence is good for him. Because that could lead to a bad life of crime and other things. It could also teach him how to defend himself from others. Which would keep him from losing his money from people who rob him.

  32. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. Richard’s father was taken from him when he was very young. There was no food. The family was left without any money to buy food with.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Richard’s mother gave him a big stick to beat the other kids with. Many children are not told to beat other children with stick. When a child is shown this they tend to eat children.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. If someone tends to act violent at a young age they tend to be really violent when they get older. The people who get a bad reputation and the reputation only gets worse if the behavior continues. Learning the power of self defense can also make somebody be extremely violent.

  33. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. His father leaves them alone and without food or a source of income. He is forced to go days without food. The mother is forced to get a job leaving the two boys alone. All these things make make him an adult because most adults don't have these problems.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. His mother forces him to use violence as the answer. He has to go shop for the family. He has to get beat up repeatedly. Everything That happens is different and wrong it makes no sense

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. His mother would not let him inside the house until he came back with groceries. There was a gang harassing him that he had to fight to keep the grocery money. It taught him that violence can solve problems. that can cause him to get sent to prison, to beat his children. He could get a reputation for being violent.

  34. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. After his dad left, everything started to fall apart. Little by little. Since his father was the one who brought home the paycheck, they had no money after they left. Because they had no money, they had to live with no food until their mom got a job to buy food. After his mom did get a job, Richard was responsible for many things that a small boy wouldn't normally be responsible for. He had to clean, prepare his own food, and pretty much raise his little brother. So, besides the money that his mother brought in for food and bills, he pretty much took care of himself.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. A lot of things changed his mothers life, after his father left too. She was used to being a stay at home mother, but before she knew it she was out of her comfort zone and working everyday. One day she had told Richard that he needed to go grocery shopping for the family, she would make the list and give him the money. It sounded pretty easy to Richard. A gang attacked him and stole the money for the groceries. He went home, and all his mom did was give him another list and more money and told him to go back to the store. The same thing happened again. This time, his mother gave him a stick, and the list, and some more money. She told him that if they tried to fight, then fight back. Richard really didn’t want to go, but his mother slapped him after he tried going into the house. He wasn’t allowed back in until he go the groceries. He went out and beat the boys with the stick, they ran inside. The boys’ parents came yelling at him, but he scared them off, too. He had felt really proud of himself that night.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. It was really ignorant of his mother wanting him to become more mature from violence, and there are a lot of effects that he can have on his life just from that act. There some minor immediate effects, like he can get a bad reputation for what he did, or even could have went to jdc for it. Longer effects would be that he might think that violence is the answer to everything, so if he doesn’t get what he wants, then he could get it through violence. But the worst effect I think would be is that he could end up being a violent parent, like his mother.

  35. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. Richards father left the home unexpectedly. Since his mother was a stay at home mom they didnt have any money for food, since they didn’t have any food this caused Richard to be really hungry and his mom had to get a job. Richards mother let him go grocery shopping and puts him in charge.

Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. Putting Richard in charge and letting him go to the grocery store. When going to the grocery store Richard gets beaten up which brings out a new attitude in his mother wanting him to stand up for himself, sending him back to the store. After getting beat up for a second time his mother slaps him and give him a stick to beat up the boys if they messed with him again and if he didn’t get groceries to not come back.

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. Since violence worked out with him he could use it further in life and end up in prison. Also now he has a bad reputation with the parents since he chased there kids down the street. Final he could be a violent father with his kids since he was violent as a kid.

  36. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. He has to because his father, who worked for money for food, left. His mother is never home to take care of them because she has to work a lot to support all of them so he has to learn to take care of himself and his brother. On top of that, his mother decides to make him do the grocery shopping, which puts him in a risky situation.
Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. One thing that was different was that his mother always told him he would have to wait when he said he was hungry. He wasn’t used to that because when he said it before he would get bread to snack on. Another thing that was different in his mother’s behavior was that she all of the sudden made him have to take care of himself and his brother. Also, she made him do the shopping all of the sudden. He simply got robbed and beat by some boys on the street. Going back home, he expected his mother to comfort him. All she did was give him more money. After getting robbed for the second time, she gave him a stick to defend himself. She refused to let him back in until he got the groceries. He learned to defend himself but it was very different because his mother was so persistent about not letting him in until he did as she said. After all of that, he knew that things would be much more difficult and he would have to get used to it.
Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. After what he did, he probably had a pretty bad reputation in the area. Another thing is that he might remember that he can get what he wants through violence and use that. Maybe even on his family when he’s older.

  37. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. The crisis is that dad has mysteriously disappeared so our boy has to shop for the family. Mom gives him money every time he goes to the store because mom is never around. This is important because he and everyone is experiencing extreme hunger pains.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different. This means that when Richard returns with no food he gets yelled at because he is the only one who can do that. Also this means that mom has to keep a tight eye on every cent of money. It also means that he has to face loads of gangs or others who want to take his money

Because Richard's violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with the dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. This may lead to Richard to a life of crime after he experienced the rush of the fight. This may lead to a major brawl with the parents leading again to jail time. Finally Richard could start joining gangs and have his life go right down the toilet.

  38. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. One problem’s was when the father left the house they had no money which resulted in not having any food which resulted in the Mom having to get a job and work for her and the two kids. The Mom puts Richard in charge of the flat and he has to take care of his brother while the Mom is away at work. The Mom leaves them with a loaf of bread and a pot of tea.

Several shocking changes in his mother's behavior let Richard know the rules were suddenly different.
His Mom made him go out and get groceries for the family. When he is walking down the street he see’s a group of boys standing around in a circle. One of the kids shout and then they run after him and then they go and take his money and they take the groceries. then when it happens again the Mom gives him a big stick and sends him on his way threatening him saying he can’t come home until he has the groceries in hand. Then he goes out and he meets the boys in the street and he hits them all in the head with the stick and makes them all run home to their parents. The parents come out of there houses and start yelling at Richard telling him he is Crazy.

Since he was rewarded for beating up a bunch of kids with a stick he might think that. that is the way to handle things in life and it is a way to handle something if someone bothers him and makes him angry.

  41. What caused the crisis in their home? The father has left them. They have little to no money. They have little food for a long period of time. So there mom had to get a job.

What behavior did his mom show that turned his life around? First off his mom had to get a job. Because of that he had to get the groceries. He got beat up and instead of comfort she smacked him and said to not come back with out the groceries.

What long term and immediate effect did he get when his mom acted violently towards him. He became aware that violence can be a answer. As an adult he could go to jail. If he got kids he could beat them.

Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. because his mom was doing a chef and was and she was not a stay at home mom and that she was doing all of this why maintaining a foel job that is hard it is what we wish we do not have to do. this is what i think is why he had to be an adult.

Being beat up no food no money adulthood father leaving. that is why he was transformed into an adult so fast.

  59. Richard Wright was forced to assume adult responsibilities at an early age due to an unavoidable family crisis. The father left the family, without a trace of word. And that was the families money provider. So then Richard really had to experience the true meaning of hungry. Not having any food in the house, or any money to buy the food.

Several shocking changes in his mother’s behavior let’s Richard know the rules were suddenly different. Richard mother suddenly got a mood change after the father left. She became angry and ungrateful, for what Richard was trying to help the family. At one point she wouldn't let richard into the home unless he had groceries for the house. She told him she would physically beat him, unless he came home with food. Richard was shocked when she first told him he had to get the food, but now he can't come home even? It was heartbreaking.

Because Richard’s violent behavior paid off for him and was rewarded by his mother, he is now faced with a dilemma of deciding when and if violence can be appropriate. This experience could have thought Richard, that violence was the answer. That in order to get what he wants he has to physically fight. I feel like this is all really his mother's fault. When the father left she should have had her motherly instinct and get food for her child.

  60. Richard was forced to do a lot of adult responsibilities at a very early age. When Richard’s father leaves someday, it has been days and yet he never returns . Since Richard's father was always the one who brought all of the food home, So Richard’s mother is forced to get a job, or else they won’t have anymore food. The family goes without food for at least two days, because his mother could not find a job in a day.

Several weird things have been going wrong with his mother. Richard is starting to know the rules were suddenly different. Richard started to be more cerious when his mother told him to go and buy all of the groceries.
The very first time he goes out and a group of people beats him and steals his money. Richard returns home, and is mother says nothing but sends him out again. Richard gets beat again. This time his mother refuses to let him in until he got the groceries. She sent him off with more money and a large stick.

Because of how violent he was when he went out to buy things for his mother, he would use his fists and a stick to beat them up, and his mother is rewarding him for everything he does with Violence. Richard has gained a really bad reputation towards everyone in the neighborhood. I am starting to think that when he grows up he might think that Violence is going to solve all of his problems.

  63. His dad left him and his family. His mom had to take care of the kids by herself. She had no money and nothing to help her kids with.

What shocking behaviors by Richard’s mother signaled a turning point in his life?
His mother gave him some pennies to go get some food at the store. When he got to the store there were boys that had robbed him. When he got back home his mother gave him some more money and said go back. When he walked outside the boys jumped him. When he went to go tell his mother, his mother got mad and slapped him and gave him a stick to fight back.

What were the immediate effects of Richard’s violent behavior in his life? What are likely to be the long-term effects?
He can now think that he can solve his problems with a stick to beat the crap out of someone. He can grow up to be in jail and probably get killed for it.
